The central purpose of this project was to support refugees residing in the settlements of Kaski and Kathmandu districts by providing medical equipment to PACOM Augmentation Team (PAT), office located at the US Embassy in Kathmandu. The project ran from 15th May, 2024 to 31st December, 2024, with an aim of delivering essential equipment and materials across various settlements in Nepal. Aluminum underarm crutches, and air mattresses with pumps, two sets of stretchers, folding wheelchairs, portable folding beds, bed assist rails were among the supplies provided to 3 different settlements, firstly at Choejor and Jawalakhel/Samdupling in Kathmandu District, along with Tashiling, and Paljorling settlements in the Kaski District and finally to the Jampaling settlement in Tanahun District.

The Authorized Government Representatives (AGRs) assessed each material individually and replaced the ones that appeared to be unsuitable after the delivery. The team members carried out their tasks independently, whilst following the performance standard without any guidance by the American government.

The project’s budget comprised driver expenses, transportation and handling, procurement, taxes, fees and delivery. Each alteration needed, to guarantee every step was authorized and within the project’s scope required approval from the Contracting officer. Over the course of the seven-month period, the successful delivery of medical supplies to the refugee settlements was made possible by this meticulous coordination and adherence to standards.
